Today, we wanted to take a moment to share everything you might need to know when planning a last-minute escape, inspired by a recent trip we organised to Sri Lanka with just three days’ notice (more on that later).
As always, planning ahead is the best way to secure the most competitive flight prices and your preferred accommodation. But we know that life doesn’t always go to plan. Whether your existing arrangements have fallen through, you’ve found yourself with an unexpected window of availability, or you simply can’t bear another grey, rainy day and are craving sunshine, we can help.
This depends slightly on your chosen destination and the type of itinerary you’re after, but we can create a trip with as little as two days’ notice.
Ideally, for a more detailed itinerary that includes a safari, we request a minimum of one week, but we will always try our best.
Please note that due to tight timescales, last-minute bookings must be paid for in full by bank transfer to secure the trip.
Flexibility is key. When planning at the last minute, being open-minded about where to travel works in your favour. It allows us to take advantage of where the weather will be best, which is always a bonus!
Timing matters. If you’re travelling during high season or school holidays, we may need to search a little harder for suitable flights and accommodation, so do keep this in mind.
Be clear about your priorities. Let us know any non-negotiable requirements upfront so we can tailor the perfect trip as quickly as possible.
We recently planned a 18-day adventure across Sri Lanka, with only three days’ notice.
Our clients’ original trip to the Himalayas was cancelled due to bad weather, leaving them in need of an alternative plan. With their departure for Delhi imminent, we got to work!
Thanks to our incredible local partners, we were able to send a proposed itinerary within 24 hours, packed with tailored excursions and some of Sri Lanka's finest hotels. After a few adjustments and flights between India and Sri Lanka booked, the trip was confirmed, and a new adventure began.
