Explore the rugged mountains and golden beaches of Oman. The Hajar Mountains soar up to 3,000m above sea level and stretch for 430 miles across Oman and the UAE, offering striking views and a number of hiking routes. The Omani coastline borders the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman, with golden sandy beaches, nesting turtles and vibrant coral. Enjoy a taste of the beautiful, contrasting landscapes with this itinerary.

Day 01

Arrive in Muscat and transfer to the Al Bustan Palace.  Explore the hotel and unwind from your travels on the golden beach. 

Day 02

Spend the exploring the sights in Muscat. The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is a must-see, with its impressive domes and intricate detailing. Visit the Corniche before stopping at Muttrah Fish and Vegetable Market for a taste of Omani life.

Day 03

The Al Bustan Palace has a fantastic spa, tucked behind in a quiet area of the private beach. Enjoy some luxurious pampering with one of the many treatments, inspired by local ingredients.

Day 04

Try Al Bustan Palace’s excellent restaurant; The Pavilion. Enjoy sunset views and the sea breeze while dining on freshly caught seafood and local produce.

Day 05

After checking out from Al Bustan Palace, transfer to the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The journey takes around two and a half hours, leaving behind Muscat as you climb higher through the rugged Hajar Mountains.

Day 06

Explore the Hajar Mountains on foot with a guided hike to local villages. Learn about the ancient falaj irrigation system and traditional family life in the region.

Day 07

Visit Nizwa Fort, which is roughly an hour from Jebel Akhdar. The impressive fort was built in in 1650’s and took roughly twelve years to construct.

Day 08

After checking out from the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar, return to Muscat for your flight home after exploring two of Oman’s beautiful regions.

For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
