Day 01

Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer by road to Mhondoro Safari Lodge.  The journey takes around 3 hours, with the final stretch taking guests through the Welgevonden Game Reserve. Settle into your lodge and enjoy your first evening game drive. 

Day 02

Mhondoro enjoys a unique, underground waterhole hide, accessed via a tunnel from the lodge. Between game drives, exploring the game reserve, spend time enjoying close encounters with wildlife visiting the watering hole. 

Day 03

Join expert guides and rangers for a bush walk.  Exploring on foot allows for better bird watching experiences, and the game reserve is home to over 300 bird species including the rare blue crane. 

Day 04

Enjoy your final full day on safari. The game reserve is home to the Big 5 and by now visitors are likely to have seen a variety of wildlife.  For a special experience join an experienced ranger for on foot rhino tracking. 

Day 05

Today, after an early start, return to Johannesburg for your flight onwards to Mauritius.  After four exciting days on safari you will be welcomed by idyllic beaches and the opportunity to relax in the sunshine.  Check in to your hotel, LUX* Le Morne, which is in the rural south of the island. 

Day 06

Your hotel is set between the foothills of Le Morne, a striking mountain, and a beautiful stretch of beach. LUX* Le Morne offers welcoming service and a relaxed feel. Spend your first day exploring the hotel and enjoying the beautiful setting. 

Day 07-11

Spend your days visiting the tranquil spa and paddling in the clear waters.  Thrill-seekers can try their hand at kite-surfing from Le Morne beach - it is one of the best locations in the world for the sport. 

Day 12

After a relaxing week at LUX* Le Morne, head back to the airport for your journey home after a memorable trip in South Africa and Mauritius.
