Day 01

After arriving in Tanzania, transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha Coffee Lodge.

Day 02

Travel to Oliver’s Camp, located in Tarangire National Park. Enjoy lunch at the camp and relax on your private deck before experiencing your first game drive.

Day 03

Spend your day exploring Tarangire National Park. The camp offers walking safaris with expert guides, as well as the opportunity to explore the park after dark with a night drive. Tarangire National Park is home to an array of animals, including rarer species such as wild dogs, oryx and gerenuks.

Day 04

Travel to The Highlands, set on the slopes of Olmoti volcano. The Highlands is a small camp with eight unique domed suites that offer panoramic views of the surrounding forest.

Day 05

Explore the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, home to the ‘Big 5’. Enjoy game drives before returning to camp, where roaring fires will await guests in the cosy suites and lounge areas.

Day 06

Travel to Rubondo Island National Park, a remote island on Lake Victoria. Rubondo Island Camp is the only camp on the island which is wild and virtually uninhabited, apart from park wardens and researchers.

Day 07 - 08

Explore the island, combining time spent relaxing in the peaceful surroundings with a range of activities. The activities on offer range from cookery classes and fishing trips to a chimpanzee habituation experience and guided forest walks.

Day 09

Begin your journey home, having explored some of Tanzania’s hidden gems.

That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
