Day 01

After arriving at Livingstone airport, it is a short drive to your accommodation which overlooks the Zambezi River. Waterberry Lodge includes a variety of activities such as sunset cruises, island picnics and market tours all which you will be able to enjoy during your stay here.

Day 02

Arise early for your microlight flight over the Victoria Falls, taking in the beauty of falls. Back on the ground, spend the rest of the morning exploring the waterfall seeing it from all angles

Day 03

Today you’ll head off on a multi-day rafting tour down the Zambezi River. Starting at the Boiling Pot (rapid number 1), right under the Victoria Falls you’ll paddle through the exhilarating waters. The Zambezi River is a deep channeled, high-volume river, with worldclass 3–5 rapids interspersed with tranquil pools, allowing you time to enjoy the magnificent scenery between tackling the rapids. Spend the night on the white sand beaches of the Batoka Gorge.

Day 04

Rise to the smell of bacon and eggs on the fire and the sun appears over the Batoka Gorge. Packing up everything on to the rafts, jump in and paddle further down the river. Stop off for lunch and a float through calmer waters. Set up camp tonight on a new beach, sleeping under the stars.

Day 05

Soak up your last day on the rapids today and end your rafting journey at about lunch time. For those looking for a challenge, hike out of the Batoka Gorge, traversing the interesting rock face. For those looking for a less challenging exit, chose to helicopter your way out, flying over the Victoria Falls and up the river, landing at the Royal Chundu Lodge.

Day 06

Royal Chundu offer the chance to go tiger fishing – the predator of the Zambezi. Alternatively, you can choose to wind down, visit the spa, and enjoy some cocktails on your private deck overlooking the water.

Day 08

Enjoy a morning of leisure at the lodge before travelling to Livingstone Airport for your departure flight after a unique adventure.

FAQs

Why book a tailor-made holiday with a luxury travel specialist?

The best trips feel effortless, but behind every seamless journey is thoughtful planning and genuine expertise. A luxury travel specialist brings first-hand destination knowledge, trusted recommendations and personalised service to every itinerary, ensuring your holiday is shaped around you. From choosing the finest hotels and experiences to managing all the finer details, tailor-made travel allows you to make the most of your time away without the stress of organising it yourself.

What types of holidays do you specialise in?

Love To Explore specialises in thoughtfully crafted journeys designed entirely around each individual traveller. From slow, sun-drenched escapes on idyllic Indian Ocean islands to immersive, adventure-led safaris through the African wilderness, every trip is shaped by personal style and pace. While Africa and the Indian Ocean remain at the heart of what we do, our trusted network of local experts allows us to extend far beyond, opening the door to extraordinary destinations across the globe.

How far in advance should I book a holiday?

There is no single rule when it comes to booking your next escape, as every journey is completely bespoke. Whether you’re planning a special milestone trip years in advance or seeking a spontaneous last-minute escape, we can help shape it at any stage. That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
