Love To Explore Rating: Buisness Class

Bawah Reserve is a tropical retreat, set across a privately owned collection of islands in Indonesia. The islands are set within a 1,000 hectare marine conservation area, and the islands themselves are blanketed by luscious jungle.

Bawah Reserve has 35 tented suites, overwater bungalows and villas spread throughout the retreat. Each suite is designed to utilise sustainable materials, including driftwood, recycled materials and bamboo.

There are four bars and restaurants at Bawah, with a focus throughout the resort on serving delicious cuisine centred around locally sourced and fresh ingredients. Enjoy seafood caught in the surrounding waters and vegetables grown on the island, in innovative Mediterranean and Indonesian dishes.

Guests at Bawah Reserve can enjoy an array of activities, from paddle-boarding, snorkelling and diving to guided rainforest hikes, Batik painting classes and Indonesian dance lessons. Daily spa treatments at the Aura Spa are included within every guest’s stay. The spa is nestled within the forest and is also home to a wellbeing centre which offers daily mindfulness and movement classes.

At Love To Explore, we would recommend the resort for these unique selling points:

  • Unique destination
  • Sustainable tourism focus, surrounded by a protected marine reserve
  • Daily included spa treatment

“A luscious private island, with a variety of activities and a barefoot luxury feel.”
