Camp Kipwe is a unique eco-lodge in the Huab Valley. Nestled among massive granite boulders, it blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. The lodge’s design takes inspiration from the environment, with natural materials like stone and thatch used to construct its domed, cave-like accommodations.

The camp’s 12 bungalows and suites all have open-air bathrooms that offer breathtaking views of the star-filled skies and the surrounding terrain while still ensuring privacy. Camp Kipwe also has a 180 degree viewing deck where guests can take in panoramic views of the desert, particularly striking at sunrise and sunset.

Damaraland is home to a wealth of natural and cultural wonders. Activities include the opportunity to explore the dramatic Twyfelfontein rock engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing ancient San Bushmen art. Wildlife enthusiasts can track desert-adapted elephants, through bush walks and game drives. At camp, guests can unwind at the picturesque pool, carved into the rocks.

At Love To Explore we would recommend the lodge for these unique selling points:

  • Beautiful, remote setting
  • Range of cultural & wildlife activities
  • 180 degree sunset and sunrise viewing platform

“A beautiful, unique camp tucked into a rocky outcrop with incredible views”
