Eleven Deplar Farm is a luxury retreat nestled in the remote Fljót Valley of northern Iceland. Once a working sheep farm, it has been transformed into an exclusive lodge that is surrounded by towering mountains, making it the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts.
Guests at Deplar Farm can enjoy a wide range of seasonal activities, including heli-skiing on untouched powder in the Troll Peninsula, fly fishing, horse riding, whale watching, and snowmobiling. The winter months also offer prime opportunities to see the Northern Lights. The lodge itself is designed to blend into the surroundings, with dark timber cladding and grass roofs as well as striking floor-to-ceiling windows, and cosy Nordic-inspired interiors. There are 13 unique suites, each with a luxurious ensuite bathroom and a welcoming feel. The lodge can also be booked on an exclusive basis for larger groups and families.
The on-site spa includes an isopod flotation tank, geothermal-heated indoor/outdoor pool, sauna, cold plunge, and a gym, enabling guests to recover in luxury after more adventurous activities or simply enjoy the chance to relax in a captivating setting. Meals are crafted using fresh, local ingredients, and often feature Icelandic cuisine with a gourmet twist.

That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
