Silky Oaks Lodge is a luxurious rainforest retreat set on the edge of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest, just moments from Mossman Gorge and around an hour from Cairns. Hidden amongst towering trees and overlooking the Mossman River, the lodge offers an immersive nature experience with a refined, contemporary Australian style.
There are forty spacious treehouse-style suites and private residences, thoughtfully designed with timber interiors, soft neutral tones, open-plan bathrooms, and large balconies that place guests directly within the rainforest canopy. Many suites feature outdoor hammocks, freestanding bathtubs, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing the surrounding forest.

That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
