Lion Camp is set in South Luangwa National Park, along the banks of the Luangwa River. The camp features ten thatch and canvas suites, each on raised wooden platforms with private decks to maximise panoramic views of the river and the surrounding bush. The suites are elegantly furnished with natural materials, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and each includes an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. The central lodge at Lion Camp features a dining area, bar, and lounge, all offering stunning views of the river and the floodplain beyond. That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
