Nkwali Camp is a well-established safari camp set on private land just outside South Luangwa National Park, offering a blend of comfort, elegance, and immersive wildlife experiences. Positioned on the banks of the Luangwa River, the camp provides stunning views of the river and the abundant wildlife that frequents its shores, including elephants, hippos, and a variety of bird species. The camp has just six spacious chalets, ensuring an intimate experience. The chalets are constructed with local materials, featuring large open fronts that allow guests to take in the natural surroundings from the comfort of their room. That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
