Places & people that go the extra mile for guests of all ages

Many of the resorts, camps, lodges & destinations across our portfolio are excellent places to visit with children, whether they are infants, children or teenagers. Here, we have touched on resorts, experiences and airlines that go the extra mile to ensure a memorable holiday for all ages, whether it is a Junior Ranger course, onsite zip-lining through the forest or a spacious family villa.

Hotels, Camps & Lodges

COMO Maalifushi, Maldives: There is a variety of accommodation on offer, from Beach Suites which will accommodate two adults and a child, to two bedroom villas that are overwater or beachside. The Play by COMO kids club offers a variety of activities, and young guests can also join marine biologists for coral propagation or a marine safari.

Borana Lodge, Kenya: The breadth of activities available at Borana for both adults and children makes it a wonderful place to experience as a family. Children can explore the Kenyan landscape on e-bikes, enjoy cookery classes with the chef, join visits to local schools and take part in pony lessons. Two family cottages are available, each offering ample space for families during their stay.

Heritage Le Telfair, Mauritius: The Timomo kids club is divided into three age groups, catering for young guests from 0 – 17 years old. The unique ‘Baby Timomo’ club offers complimentary babysitting daily, from 8.30 am – 3.30 pm, with experienced, qualified staff each caring for a maximum of two babies from 0-35 months old.

Niyama, Maldives: Niyama’s popular ‘Explorers Kids Club’ offers a varied program of activities which change daily and include scavenger hunts, yoga, baking classes and snorkel safaris. The kids club also offers a dedicated menu for lunch. Accommodation options at Niyama are varied, including Family Beach Pool Villas and a variety of rooms which can accommodate an additional child bed.

Experiences & Activities

Gibbs Farm, Tanzania: As a working farm that produces coffee, vegetables, herbs, milk and eggs, guests of all ages can experience plenty of new sights within the property. The family-friendly property encourages guests to explore the farm, gardens, local village, and bordering forest. While not the traditional kids club and tailored activities, Gibbs Farm offers an interactive and unforgettable experience in a safe, welcoming environment.

Constance Ephelia, Seychelles: Constance Ephelia is spread over 300 acres of lush forest and mangroves, offering plenty to entertain children. There is a zip-line and climbing wall within the forest, as well as a variety of non-motorised water sports and a kids club.

Qasr al Sarab by Anantara, UAE: For adventurous families, the desert activities available at Qasr Al Sarab are hard to beat. From fat biking to dune bashing, thrill seeking children have plenty to choose from. The resort also offers star gazing walks, archery and movie nights as well as a kids club.

Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Sri Lanka: Set alongside Yala National Park, Wild Coast Tented Lodge offers a variety of activities to engage children of all ages. The Junior Ranger program aims to introduce children to the beautiful surrounding wilderness and includes everything from footprint identification to guided walks. The lodge also offers ‘Junior Masterchef’, where children can learn to make local sweet treats.

Airlines & Airports

Emirates: The airline has a variety of perks to make flying with children slightly easier. There are dedicated kids menus, colouring sheets, puzzles and over 150 dedicated TV channels on the inflight entertainment system. The best perk, however, is the take-home adventure packs, filled with soft toys, blankets and activities. The packs feature cultures from around the world and there is a collection of collectable options to look out for.

Heathrow Airport: Terminals 2-5 have extensive soft play areas to help entertain children while awaiting a flight. There are slides, soft play zones and colouring sheets as well as separate areas for babies and infants. During school holidays, Heathrow also has a selection of restaurants where kids eat free, when accompanying an adult who is dining from the main menu.

Destination

Mauritius: While all the destinations we offer are family-friendly, Mauritius is particularly good for families of all ages. Whether travelling with young children, teenagers or a mix of generations, Mauritius offers something for everybody. Resorts are very welcoming to children, and staff are accommodating to families. The generally calm, safe waters surrounding Mauritius mean it is an excellent destination to try water sports for the first time, especially as many resorts offer complimentary watersports.
