Set in the Namib Desert, &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is a luxurious lodge in one of the most pristine and otherworldly landscapes on Earth. Surrounded by red dunes, vast plains, and rugged mountains, this lodge offers a sense of remote solitude. The lodge features stone and glass suites, offering panoramic views of the desert’s vastness and designed to blend in with the surroundings. There are twelve suites, each with a private plunge pool and retractable skylight so that guests can star gaze from the comfort of their bed. As the only dark sky reserve in Africa, the star-gazing is particularly special.
The lodge has an extensive wine cellar, as well as an interactive kitchen where guests can see delicious meals being created. The lodge aims to ensure guests do not eat in the same setting twice, with a whole host of dining spaces around the property. There is a small wellness centre with a treatment room for spa treatments and a gym with very impressive views.
Guests at the lodge can enjoy guided desert drives, explore the towering dunes of Sossusvlei, or experience the desert from above with a scenic helicopter or hot-air balloon ride. Nature walks and e-bike rides through the desert also give the opportunity to experience the unique wildlife up close, including oryx, springbok, and the rare Hartmann's mountain zebra.

Whether you’re planning a special milestone trip years in advance or seeking a spontaneous last-minute escape, we can help shape it at any stage. That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
