Set in the Samburu National Park, with stunning views across the Matthews Mountain Range, Sarara Camp is a small, luxury tented camp. Each of the six tents is spacious and beautifully appointed. The spacious tents feature handcrafted furniture, soothing colours and spacious outdoor showers. Guests will find it hard to resist relaxing on the inviting outdoor sofas, overlooking the waterhole and wilderness beyond. Wildlife in the area is abundant, with the area known for its wide range of birdlife, excellent elephant sightings and the chance to see leopards, wild dogs and reticulated giraffes amongst others. For a particularly special experience, learn about the ancient Samburu tradition; the Singing Wells as the Samburu warriors bring their cattle to watering holes. Activities on offer from Sarara Camp include horse riding, guided trail runs, bush walks, beading with Samburu women, visits to the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary and the chance to experience a Ngoma, traditional Samburu dancing. There is no single rule when it comes to booking your next escape, as every journey is completely bespoke. Whether you’re planning a special milestone trip years in advance or seeking a spontaneous last-minute escape, we can help shape it at any stage. That said, for the best choice of boutique lodges and the most sought-after properties, we recommend beginning the planning process around nine months to a year ahead, allowing the widest possible access to availability and experiences. For certain safari lodges and iconic seasonal moments, such as Japan’s cherry blossom season, we would advise planning up to two years in advance.
